E-Health 102: Assessing Your Strengths and Challenges to Adopting E-Health Technology

Are you preparing to transition to an electronic health record (EHR) but not sure where to begin or what you need to consider? This is the workshop for you!

This workshop provides some hands-on activities to help you identify issues that may need to be addressed prior to implementing an EHR. A fast EHR adoption plan takes a minimum of 6 months, and a slow, planned process can easilty take 12-18 months. What takes that long? There are lots of pieces that need to be completed to lay a foundation for adopting e-health technology, including knowledge of HIPPA, written policies and procedures, and understanding of your workflow, to name a few. This workshop will address topics including assessing your computer skills and your own beliefs regarding E-Health Technology, challenging myths and misconceptions regarding e-health, assessing your organizational readiness for adopting e-health, and identifying next steps to take to prepare for e-health as well as who you can use as part of your ongoing support team. We will also discuss how to identify whether or not a product meets the guidelines set forth in the 2015 mandate, as well as point to consider prior to starting the shopping process.
